There’s not much to say emphatically about a plunger. The core use reflects an unfortunate circumstance involving substances even more unfortunate.  The plunger usually means certain expletives have been uttered, and most likely a flailing of the hands and arms has ensued.  If you’re like me, you’ve already blamed your spouse for the entire incident (regardless if it’s remotely factually true), and you’re also swearing “this time we’re gonna just fix the whole damn thing” while fantasizing about spending tens of thousands of dollars completely gutting your bathroom or kitchen or source of the necessary plunge.
