1.  Who has the money to splurge on diamonds these days?  Especially considering I’m pretty sure we need diamonds like Victoria Beckham needs another spray tan.
2.  So even if we were flush with cash, we’re just not sure that diamonds are where we’d put our money right now – it’s going to be a while before we get over Blood Diamond.
3.  Despite our arguments against diamonds, we love things that are shiny and lovely – we’re a little like Gollum in that regard. 
4.  And, if it’s shiny and has a funny streak we cannot resist it!
5.  Do you have a girlfriend that is just a little too ‘rock’ crazy?  Tell her to settle down and give her a gift that might temporarily satiate her.
