There is this scene in James Bond’s Die Another Day (starring Halle Berry) that is particularly cheesey.  Halle  - or "Minx" – comes crawling out of the ocean looking, well, perfect, and James (newly groomed after being tortured in Korea) stands at a bar – shirt unbuttoned down to his chest – head tilted – holding a tall glass of something delicious.

"Mo-Heee-To?" He croons to Minx (or is it Jade?) and then takes a big long sip of a Mojito while he and Liger go on to have the most ridiculous of all James Bond sexual innuendo conversations…something about animals feasting and birds preying…doing something at night…I don’t know…all I know is that every time I see that scene, all I want is the damn Mojito.

Not that James would ever trot around with a pink and white plaid glass full of the delicious mint, lime and rum concoction.  But I would.  And since I’ll never ever look like Halle Berry, this will have to suffice in making me feel better about myself.

These plaid glasses are ADORABLE.  To me – it’s a giant step back to a 1974 Lilly Pulitzer drenched summer somewhere in the south or in Malibu.  I love summer dishware.  It’s kind of like Christmas decorations…you pull it out for a short time and then put it away before you tire of it.  The syrupy pink and green combo is just screaming “fill me up with something sweet!” and to me that’s a finely made Mojito.
