We saw Blood Diamond this past winter, and while we love ourselves some Leonardo DiCaprio, we haven’t been feeling up to buying any diamond jewelry since. That doesn’t mean of course that we still don’t covet those tiny bits of carbon, we just don’t want to be contributing to anything that hurts anyone.

We here at Delight have found a solution to this little ethical conundrum for now…designer Danielle Maveal has created some ingenious little pieces she dubbed her “happiness” line. She found a technical diagram of a diamond and etched it on to sterling silver, and viola - diamonds at a much lower price than the real thing - and with a good dose of humor.

Also, we love that these earrings are so versatile. The sterling silver pieces look great with any outfit and can be as casual as you want, or use them to sass up a basic black dress.

We believe jewelry should be fun, wearable, and not bankrupt the pocketbook. That’s why we love Danielle Maveal’s work. It always has a sense of humor and is always affordable. The handmade earrings are deeply etched, oxidized and matte for maximum contrast.
