So many artists, so little time...

May 20th, 2008

Here’s a bit more info about the artists…

Kam Tang:
Kam Tang is an illustrator living and working in Brixton, London. After earning his degree from the University of Brighton he went on to do a masters at the Royal College of Art. His first major commission was for GTF (Graphic Thought Facility), who called upon him to illustrate the journey from start to finish of a Royal College of Art student for the RCA prospectus. He has since worked for many editorial publications such as The Guardian, Wired, Arena, and more recently Wallpaper* magazine, where his intricate and highly detailed ‘Navigator’ maps have been a regular feature.

Kam has also designed and created images for many music campaigns, which have included work for Athlete, Gnarls Barkley, Morning Runner, and more recently The Chemical Brothers.  Besides editorial and music work, Kam’s work has appeared on a much larger scale having been involved in advertising campaigns for Adidas, Nike and Sony.

Pars:
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he had a love for drawing and creating ever since he was youngster. He went to a little bit of art school and worked as a designer for a bit but realized that wasn’t really for him. Meanwhile, he became involved into graffiti and it had a pretty big influence on his art and way of life.   Greatly influenced by the climate in the Pacific Northwest – he considers that not only has the overcast weather been an influence but the landscape as well.

He was chosen to be the first solo show at the new My Plastic Heart shop in NYC.  He has also released a few new products and prints at Flatcolor.com and is working on a bunch of different projects and new work for shows coming up this year and next, so keep a look out on his site Parskid.com for details.

Rinzen:
Australian design and art collective RINZEN is best known for the collaborative approach of its five members, forming in 2000 as a result of their visual and audio remix project, RMX. The group’s posters and album covers have been exhibited at the Louvre and their large scale artwork installed in Tokyo’s Zero Gate and Copenhagen’s Hotel Fox. They recently designed the inaugural issue of Paul Pope’s Batman for DC Comics and graphics for a bicycle released by Japanese company, Bebike.

Members of the group are variously based in Berlin, Brisbane, Melbourne and New York. Rinzen is: Steve Alexander (Berlin), Rilla Alexander (Berlin), Adrian Clifford (Brisbane), Karl Maier (Melbourne), Craig Redman (New York)

Supermundane:
Supermundane is the pseudonym of Rob lowe, a multi-disciplined creative who works as a graphic designer, artist, illustrator, typographer, and art director in London, England. Recognizable for the simple uncluttered layouts and often limited colour palettes. All lettering - with the exception of text - is designed bespoke for each project or uses one of his own typefaces.

His drawings and paintings are almost exclusively unplanned. His work has been published and exhibited worldwide including several solo UK shows. Clients include E4, MTV, New York Times, Colette, Penguin Books, Juliette Lewis, Orange, Hoegaarden, Liberty, One Little Indian and many more.
