Ahh, the winter.  Snow and slush, eggnog and pumpkin pie, family visits and school programs, the list of obstacles to staying healthy during the winter could go on and on.  You spend the season least-hospitable to an exercise regimen, eating frighteningly fatty foods and having an event every other night preventing you from working out.  What kind of sense does that make? 

We’re long since past the time when we needed to put on extra weight for the winter to stay warm, you can blame the inventor of polar fleece for that.  Yet, it seems as though a season of excuses was created to bolster the season of resolutions that follows it, and to that I say, BAH HUMBUG!  Why not make a single resolution this year and have it be that you aren’t going to need any resolutions this year.  You’ll back away slowly from the pie and the eggnog, you’ll tell your cousin you can’t attend the party long since thought to be the most depressing social gathering of the year, and you’ll commit yourself to workout schedule.
