- - 2003 McFadden Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon – Retails $40/bottle. Fruit driven from nose to palate, exuding aromas and flavors of ripe berries, candied fruits and well-integrated notes of toasty vanilla spice.
Tolosa’s sustainably-farmed vineyards, located in the coastal hills of San Luis Obispo, produce elegant wines that are true to varietal character and expressive of the cooling ocean breezes and long growing season that define their site.
- - 2006 Estate Grown Chardonnay Edna Ranch- Retails $22/bottle. A pale gold color is as usual the harbinger of quality. The aroma is warm and evokes honey on toast. The fruit character is towards lemon with a hint of minerality.
Greenwood Ridge’s octagonal Mendocino County tasting room was built from the wood of a single 400-year-old redwood tree. For the past three years, the winery has run completely on solar power.
- - 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Anderson Valley –Retails $18/bottle. The floral, feminine apple-and-melon fruited Semillon fills in the open spaces of the flinty Sauvignon Blanc, with its fresh grass, tart lemon, and hints of tobacco.
