It’s kind of amazing how far technology has come, really. If you think back to the days of War Games and how insanely large computers were back then, and jump forward to the fact that you can watch a movie on a phone, I’d say we’re pretty remarkable in the innovation department. And by we, I do not mean me. I still have trouble adding fractions.

The point is that we can now sell a cute pair of speakers which are made from PAPER, and can plug into laptops, iPods or whatever else needs a rockin’ beat. The point is that all of a sudden speakers are cute. Woodgrain? In that adorable box? For $13???? Seriously?

Even I, the gal constantly wired to a Macbook and Blackberry, can get a bit overwhelmed by technology from time to time. Which is why I love these speakers…affordable, super hip and they’re decidedly Lo Fi in a Hi Fi world. Plus they work. Well.

There may be a time when we’re asked to just stitch a speaker into our frontal lobe, at which point I may just power down altogether. Until then, I’m gonna blast my Neil Diamond with some Woodchuck Speakers and reminisce about the days of a young Matthew Broderick and playing Asteroids on Atari.
