Hidden Treasure: Conceal Book Shelf
February 17th, 2010
Why this item is a great buy:
We love books and our rooms are filled with them, but to be honest we’re getting a little tired of those boring old book shelves. We need a new way to keep our favorite novels at a moments reach and we’re seriously in love with how affordable it will be with this Outta Sight Conceal Book Shelf!
Five Reasons Why Less is More and Concealment Is a Good Thing:
1. While we have no problem with a little embellishment, we find all the extras just make clutter and if there’s one thing that our little apartment can’t take it’s clutter!
2. This shelf is the perfect way to highlight some of your favorite books…you know, the ones that make you seem so erudite and sophisticated (the Proust, not the Twilight).
3. Let’s see…Kate and Jon Gosselin. Can someone please make all this drama go away? (i.e. the cameras, the ‘celebrity’ appearances, the constant US Weekly covers)
4. You have already hung the only two prints you’re able to stand for long periods of time in your living room, but you still have some wall space that needs filling – why create a little readable wall art?
5. Heidi Montag, Paris Hilton, et all. Stop them please.

I love these! I have two that I use to display my DVD collection of “Friends” (yes, I’m a fan) and my real life friends comment on them everytime they come in my apartment. These are great and easy to install!

Just wondering… how much weight do these hold?

Love this look! I see it everywhere and think it looks so clean and streamlined.

These are really neat looking, but I’m wondering, how does the bottom cover of the bottom book stay closed? Do you need to attach it to the shelf? That would seem to ruin the bottom book, and not be a usable solution….

If you look at the picture with the stack of books closer - it looks like there’s 2 small hooks against the wall where you slide the bottom book’s cover to hold it up. that’s my guess!
