Absolutely Fabulous Cookbook Stand
November 21st, 2009
You’re a good cook. When the food is on the table, you are invincible. Everything looks great and tastes even better, but when all the congratulating is done, you
have to admit another thing, you’re a messy cook.
It’s okay. Thank God for wipe off countertops, dishwashers, and plastic appliances. All the damage you’ve spent several hours inflicting upon your kitchen can be repaired, save of course the balsamic vinegar you spilled all over page 134 of your favorite cookbook from the La Brea Bakery. You are constantly being reminded how unforgiving a surface paper actually is…
And then, like manna from heaven, appeared the Prop cookbook stand! With its clear plastic shield and storage space, you will no longer be your cookbook collection’s worst enemy. In fact, your books will stay so nice it will be like you don’t even use them…all those recipes are “just something you thought up.”
Be nice to your cookbooks – they’re only trying to help you!

“I have been searching for the perfect cookbook stand since we launched Delight, and I've finally found it. It holds big cookbooks without obscuring the print, plus I love the clip for recipe cards, and the plastic cover easilly holds down recipes ripped out of magazines...of which I have many. Plus, the conversion chart is insanely useful!”

I have bought three of these in the last month for gifts and ended up keeping one for my use. It’s a brilliant gift and oh so useful. Plus it looks great and I love that I can stash my clippings in the box

Yes, very nice looking but does not support a large cook book.

Cheryl brings up a point about which I was already wondering….
Just how thick of a cookbook can the stand accommodate? This is an important factor for me. It looks very nice, so I’m hoping a 1.5″ or even 2″ book would be ok.

I thought this was an awesome present for my friend, but as soon as I got it in the mail and took a look at it, I had to order one for myself too! It’s great!

I bought this stand as a gift for my sister-in-law’s birthday. It is beautiful, and is sitting on her counter right now!

I got this as a weeding present and I’m totally in love with it. Works for cookbooks, sure, but I also use it for my binder of recipes as well as my netbook! I know you might say, “Lady, your computer? Are you nuts?!” Well, the plastic swings down to cover the keyboard nicely and I usually will just go to a website and cook off a recipe instead of printing it out… Or watch The Daily Show while I cook. Anyhoo, it’s awesome. Go forth! Purchase!

Oh yeah, and it supported my hardcover copy of Mark Bittman’s ‘How To Cook Everything’ which is a pretty thick book.

Do not buy this cookbook stand if you use cookbooks. The stand cannot accommodate a normal size cookbook - only single sheets of paper - due to the depth between the plexiglass and the back support. I am returning it immediately.

I have to get this cookbook stand. Most of my cookbooks have smudges and food marks on the most used pages and some are even unreadable now. If I could just find a stand that will protect my computer when cooking from a recipe online I will be all set.

I bought this for my mother as a birthday gift and it does not support the weight of even the thinnest cookbook. It works nicely for individual recipes, but I was really hoping it would at least be able to hold a standard sized cookbook…
