The Smart Way: Portion Pals
February 22nd, 2009
The problem with diets is that there is always a trick or a gimmick that even if it works and you lose weight, once you stop using the gimmick, you gain the weight back. That’s why we here at Delight like to find things that emphasize or just help you eat healthier. Eating healthy in combination with exercise is the only way to make sure you change the way you’re living and so you’ll feel better and be healthier for good.
These Portion Pals are exactly that kind of help! Simple silicone mats clearly show you an individual portion of different food groups, so you don’t have to spend time weighing and doing other time consuming activities just to come out with a healthy meal. And what’s better they are super easy to clean and store, so you won’t have to take up any counter space!
While they can’t make the BBQ and coleslaw any less fattening this summer, these portion pals can get you on the path to eating right, which is a way of life not just another diet!

Who’s portion system is this based on? The healthy level of meat consumption is 1.5 lbs per week, are these set to that, or the USDA food pyramid?

I do believe portions should be weighed for proper dieting and portion control. That’s my dietician mother suggests.

Conrad, I don’t think these speak to how much of anything “per week” or even per day one should be eating. Rather, they help measure what size your portion should be at one sitting.
