Chalkboard Candle
December 10th, 2009
Why is this item Insanely Useful?
First off, everyone can use a candle - but a candle you can write on? Think of the possibilities!
Why is this item a Guaranteed Great Gift?
The packaging is lovely and simple and classy and you can personalize your gift with a message on the chalkboard. These are also great for showers, party favors, wedding favors, thank-yous, teacher gifts, I’m Sorry pressies. And really, everyone can use another candle. It’s one of those things many of us don’t buy for ourselves.
Why is this a Smart Buy?
These days, healthy, great-looking soy candles can cost anywhere from $28-$48, all the way up to a whopping 60 bucks. We’ve kept this candle at under $20. It is truly an affordable indulgence.
*****
Yeah, yeah, another candle. Yet, is there really another candle? I mean, isn’t the very point of candles that you can’t have too many? There are too many styles, scents, opportunities and
shelves for which to buy a candle, and buy we must, because candles are fabulous.
So fabulous in fact, that we kind of freaked out when we discovered these chalkboard candles. Here at Delight HQ, we make big use of chalkboard. We’ve painted an entire wall with chalkboard paint, we’re obsessed with our French Egg Chalk, and we’ve given oodles of Peel & Stick Chalkboard Trees to friends with kids. So it’s no wonder that a chalkboard candle makes us a bit giddy.
Think about the endless possibilities!
Messages to family! (Be back at 8! Lasagna in the fridge! Don’t forget to blow out this candle!)
Messages to friends! (Happy Birthday! Get Well! Safe Travels! Congrats on the House! You’re Engaged!)
Messages to the world! (Who is John Galt?)
For gifts, for home décor, for fun…ya can’t really beat a chalkboard candle.
Just make sure you get enough for everyone!

I’m one of those candle nuts who not only has tons at my house but I give them as gifts (like you guys said, who doesn’t need a new candle?) these are really unique and I guess I have to get one for me and two for the gift closet.

I like that these are very different than your standard candles and that they do two things at once is pretty cool

I just realized that this would make a great teacher’s gift. I guess I’m going to have to get at least one!

These look so great. Are they re-fillable? Would you sell the refills? If not, is there a way to send them back to get “refilled”?

I love these candles and think they would be fabulous as party favors or even to put on tables at a wedding reception for the guests to sign.

I just bought one as a gift for V day and it’s very cute; I only wish they made a scented version as that’s half the fun of candles.

I guess once empty you could pop a fabulously-scented votive inside for longevity of use PLUS to get the benefit of scent. Or are these too small to “refill” with a votive?
Hmmm, if too small to replace with a votive, $20 is a bit steep (for me) to spend on a small single candle. Could you give us the height and circumference dimension, pretty please? I’m interested in whether or not I could chalk an entire Haiku on one.

What are the dimensions (height and circumference) please? Would like to know if I can chalk an entire Haiku on it. I guess you could pop a fab-scented votive inside after the wax is all gone — for longevity and for scent. But if it won’t fit a votive and is therefore just a one-candle-life item, price seems just a teensy bit steep.

someone who actually bought candle? did it last long?
to
suzanne etc.
any cndle can be re-used (the holder i mean), you just freeze it a few minutes (hours) to get all the wax out, it just pops out, then u can set a votive in?
also I’ve seen this paint that u can use on wood to use for chalkboard use. Martha stewart had it, might it work on metal/ceramic??
