Honey. You Only Have Two Arms.
April 18th, 2007
Walking down 9th Street with two armfuls of groceries seems like a good exercise in multitasking – shopping, talking on your cell, and weight training. Yet, you weren’t even halfway to your apartment, and your shoulders and fingers we’re not similarly excited about it. The plastic bag in your right hand is cutting off your circulation and just about to burst, your sister thinks you aren’t listening to a word she’s saying on the phone, and you’re pretty sure you look a little worse-for-the-wear to all the folks driving by…
Enter Murval’s Striped Shopping Cart. This adorable contraption is a sturdy helper for any city girl that loves being able to travel about her neighborhood and shop like mad without getting a debilitating “workout” (the walking you can handle). Using this great looking cart, you can wear your new summer dress + heels and not have to worry about getting sweaty or strained on your travels!
The bright, cheery striped cart is even perfect for carrying picnic goodies to the park or a museum, so you don’t have to be bothered to grip awkward, wooden handles for ten blocks!
Summer is almost here, so go outside and have some fun! Whether you’re off to run some errands or just to hang in the park, this cart is perfect way to get all the advantages of being outside without having to work(out) for them.
The deets:
- City Shopping tote with two wheels and detachable bag.
- Ties on top for easy access.
- Zipper pocket in the front.
- Kick stand so that it stays up-right when not rolling.
- Lightweight and can fold flat when not in use.
- Has an easy to grip handle.

Hmm, I’m not so sure. I’m usually a big fan of the delight items, but as a New Yorker myself, I can’t encourage the use of rolling bags. They block up the sidewalk and slow everyone down. Only bring as much as you can gracefully carry, that’s the city girl’s motto! (And if that’s not possible, take a cab.)

I don’t know…I kind of like it, especially the design. I’m not a New Yorker, but walking around DC gets more than annoying with all the stuff I seem to find necessary to buy during my day.

I like the stripes! I have a black one now, but this is way cuter.

I think there is a place for these types of carts. Not for everyday use but they are invaluable when I shelp my dirty clothes to the local laundry.

I disagree - on Saturdays in the city - I hate taking cabs, and I need a big bag to do all my errands. It’s all about being polite and not invading anyone’s space too much.

If you’re walking along China town or Times Square, I can see it being impossible. But since I happen to live in Chelsea where its a little less hectic, it’ll be a helper.

Not so cute. It looks a bit old lady-ish.

Really? I thought it was decidedly *not* grandma-ish.

i adore it! yes, there are grammas that tote around the black version, but the stripes make it very cheery and …. i think i want one!! i run a soapmaking meetup which requires me to carry a bunch of supplies around Chelsea (NYC) and this would really work for me.

Not sure if these exist up in northern states, but in the south Winn Dixie Grocery sells them - or perfect replicas - for $12.99.
