Sometimes All You Need Is A Good Corkscrew
March 21st, 2007
We love nature here at Delight.com. However, our idea of “being one with nature” usually involves a large platter of cheese and several bottles of imported wine…enjoyed outside of course.
Cheese and wine and sunshine are exactly why we were so excited to discover this lovely corkscrew by Laguiole. To us, it seems to scream “play hookey and go on a picnic!” Because a picnic isn’t really a picnic if you don’t have the proper accoutrements; and this corkscrew - what with its chic brushed silver, its rustic wooden box, and its classic design - is most certainly proper.
Also, we have a hard time finding gifts for the men in our lives. And we are always in the need of a fab engagement present and the ever-needed hostess gift. So really, this simple little corkscrew is a no-brainer.
Plus, we totally don’t mind if you casually mention you “had it imported from France.” It just makes us all look better in the end.
And when on picnic, cork a bottle on us.
The deets:
- Corkscrew by Laguiole is made with silver and wood.
- Packaged in a sturdy wooden keepsake box.
- Makes a wonderful birthday gift, gift for him, or wedding gift.
- Take it on your next picnic!
- Gorgeous gift-wrapping available

I don’t know if this exposes something very telling about me, but I think this should become a purse accessory.

I like all the jokey corkscrews I see, but they just aren’t me. I’m glad I found one that is this elegant!

There is no sweeter sound than the POP of a bottle of wine opening…

just give me some good drinking wine and I’m a happy gal. I think these cork screws may be antiques soon since so many bottles now have screw tops!

I’m still on the fence about the screw tops. I guess old habilts die hard. And I agree w/ Jonny - there is something about the pop of a bottle of wine opening.
Anyway, it seems like people do collect Laguiole products - we’re so thrilled with their quality and craftsmanship. Wait till you see what we have to pair with this awesome corkscrew!!!!
