Tried, Tested, and New!

How many purses is too many? What a ludicrous question. While much has been made with womankind’s love affair with shoes, I believe the greater relationship in my closet is with my purses. Like shoes, they love me regardless of weight, season, and style, but their service to me is considerable and quiets that logical part of my mind that stills craves utility over want.
As the season has changed and my palm-green straw clutch begins to look more and more absurd, the search began for a replacement - not in my heart, of course, but for in my hand. I’m thinking houndstooth, a muted palette, and a more vintage look.
We here at Delight picked the fabrics for this clutch from an incredible new designer, Melissa Michelson and her design house LoveMert. Besides being in possession of an adorable history of fashion design in the family, Melissa also has incredible eye for rich vintage fabrics and offbeat accessories that come together in beautiful, subtle creations for everyday.
The key to having a guilt-free closet is always buying timeless pieces. Lucky for you, LoveMert is all about timeless - taking what we love about quality fabrics from the past and making sleek, simple purses for our modern lives.

“I am so thrilled to bring you this fabulous handbag! There is nothing more eco-friendly than re-using vintage materials, and this gorgeous "Jonathan" purse is truly a hybrid of classic stylings and modern design. There was only a limited amount of this fab seagull fabric, so when these bags are gone - they're gone!”

“Jonathan”!! As in “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”!! I almost forgot about him! This bag certainly appeals to me since I’m old enough to remember the story and the jacket cover to the early 1970’s book, which looks like the seagulls on the purse. Cute bag and very reminiscent for me!

I gotta say..the outside is adorable, and the setup functional. However–I would have expected a liner that matched a little better and maybe some double-stitching. If I had known what the interior was going to look like, I might have passed. Be that as it may–I’ve gotten compliments on the cute CUTE exterior!
