What’s Black & White and Green All Over?
July 12th, 2007
Why, it’s the latest featured Envirosax here at Delight.com! These are Renaissance bags if there ever were such a thing – hip, sophisticated, casual, classic, clean…and as Anna Wintour would say, “Black goes with everything.”
While we’ve featured two funky and fresh multi-colored versions of our favorite reusable grocery bags, we thought it was time we added something classic enough for Jackie Kennedy and cool enough for De Stijl…and Cameron Diaz won’t shop without her Envirosax!
The set comes with five bags in different black and white style ranging from retro rings to Gucci-esque links and bohemian paisley.
Envirosax bags help make that change easier by providing a tote that rolls up and becomes a lightweight and portable, 1 oz package. The pouch is small enough to stow into a glove box or a handbag. Plus they’re affordable – at just $6 per bag…that’s over half of what you’d pay for an ugly grocery store-sponsored bag.
Envirosax bags provide an exclusive range of eco friendly reusable shopping bags, while introducing an exciting new medium for the message of environmental sustainability. Design-driven, inexpensive and colorful, Envirosax® challenges the lack of stylish, eco-friendly, reusable shopping bags available. (I mean let’s face it, beige hemp or burlap is blech!)
Envirosax® originates from Currumbin Valley in South East Queensland, Australia. The Envirosax team uses renewable and recyclable products where possible, and is committed to operating on ecologically sustainable principles.
Situated on 10 acres of pristine Australian rainforest, the Envirosax team’s abode is totally ecologically sustainable with solar hot water and photovoltaic cells for electricity. A sewage system recycles wastewater, which waters the extensive permaculture gardens; and filtered rainwater tanks provide the premises with water. Envirosax bags are designed in Australia.
From start to finish, Envirosax bags are a responsible solution to a very big problem. And cute to boot!

These bags are fabulous! I love to give them individually as gifts. I keep one in my purse at all times, so I’m at the ready when I have the urge to shop. They’re light and compact. Kermit, it IS easy being green!

I love these bags. They are beautiful and the perfect size. I was especially impressed with the quick shipping and awesome presentation. (very friendly and personal) You are right Cathy… It is easy being green and stylish too thanks to these monocromatic bags.

Just returned from Scotland (St. Andrews), where I used my bags for carting groceries from Tesco. I also carried one in my purse for trendy shopping trips around town. Everyone is into being green in Europe. The bags have amazing strength. They are also very comfortable to carry. The price is a steal. Found a single Envirosax bag in an upscale shop priced at 6 pounds(translates to about 12 dollars). Buying from Delight.com is delightful!!!

Ladies - thank you for your kind words about the Envirosax. We’re super thrilled you love them as much as we do.
I have to say these black & white Envirosax are kind of my new obsession. I love the modern designs and the monochromatic colors. Very chic!
Thanks again and happy shopping!

We love these black & white Envirosax and I have actually received a ton of compliments on them. Of course I told them to buy them from Delight.com. It’s great doing something good for the environment yet still looking fashionable.

I love all the great patterns that Envirosax come in and they’re all soo fun even though there a little expensive. Recently I found these really cute great shoulder bags from flip and tumble. They roll up into this cute little ball and have this great shoulder pad on the strap. It would be nice if they came in more colors but they do have some really cute color combinations.

I purchased one of these bags for myself. I use it for grocery shopping. It is quite deceiving because it holds alot more than you think and it is really sturdy. I also use it for work to tote stuff in. I love it so much that I decided to buy the whole set and give them out as Christmas gifts. It is double the fun as I am helping the enviroment and giving my friends a little nudge to do the same thing.

“Design-driven, inexpensive and colorful, Envirosax® challenges the lack of stylish, eco-friendly, reusable shopping bags available. (I mean let’s face it, beige hemp or burlap is blech!)”
The pattern is only on one side. The other side is plain black with laundry instructions printed right on them. They are practical, but they are only stylish on one side of them. I hate to be vain, but if the print doesn’t go on both sides, what’s the point? Solid colors would be better after all. I chose a company with patterned bags for a reason.
Also, I did get a beige bag, organic bamboo. That is printed on both sides and it’s pretty and I’m keeping it. I’m returning the graphics, because they’re only half-graphic. I bought them from the envirosax site, not here, because they offer the organic bags also, but there’s no place to comment. No site these bags are sold on shows or sells you the back of the bag, it just comes with the pretty front, and it’s going back to the company with it.
I’m pretty sure they are decent bags if you can live with the lack of pattern on one side.

Kara - you should lighten up a bit and stop leaving mean comments on websites you don’t even shop at. Why are you taking out your weird frustrations on delight? I LOVE my black and white envirosax! they’re adorable. seriously.

I just thought people should be aware. I wasn’t aware, and now I’m disappointed. It’s not delight.com’s fault. I’m glad people like their bags, but I would have liked someone to have mentioned this before I bought them. Envirosax.com does not have room for comments. This is not a mean comment, it’s just a comment, so people know what people think about the product, nothing to do with the website. I did use the comments on this website to make my purchasing decision, but it apparently didn’t bother anyone else.
They seem like dandy bags in every other way. They should make solid colors or put the print on both sides. That’s pretty much it.

They look really cool. Do they stand up on their own when placed on the floor?

These are delightful! My city recently stopped their recycling program, so I have no where to put my grocery bags (I’ve decided to make an unneeded rug for the laundry room with them). These are the perfect solution!

There seems to be alot of chat about using these as grocery bags. The bigger size of the Envirosak (vs ChicoBag) makes it a fabulous mall bag too. People raise and eyebrow at first, but then say, “Wow!” The material on the Envirosak does not stand up by itself as someone asked. They are more like a parachute material (nylon), thus easy to fold back up, but not stiff enough to stand alone.

I absolutely love these bags. I put all 5 in the case they came with, into my purse and carry them around with me all the time. I’ve recommended these bags to everybody who compliments me about them. Great bags, and awesome pattern.

I love my bags, I got them for christmas. However, they are already falling a apart.

I’m used to toting bags made of heavier material like straw or canvas, so these seem flimsy in comparison. I’m surprised at how sturdy they are though, and I love that they’re collapsible, easy to clean, and very portable. I can stuff several of them in my purse. The colorful designs are also a big plus, although I wish BOTH sides were printed and not just one.

I’ve been using these bags for several weeks now and love them. Like other posters, I have been repeatedly surprised (and delighted) with the capacity and quality of the bags. The only thing that would make them better is if they could automatically teleport back into my glove compartment after I unpack the groceries. I’ve actually skipped stopping for a forgotten item at the store because I didn’t have my envirosax in the car and couldn’t stomach the thought of bringing home a plastic bag! :p

Just a note, the newest design series of Envirosax (the Mikado Series) has the pattern printed on both sides.
The kids series also has a different design on both sides.
Maybe they will make the switch for the newer batches of the original design series too

I love these bags. I, too, wish they were patterned on both sides, and I wish the snaps were velcro or elastic. But the tiny-rolled design and huge capacity makes them easy to use, to have on hand. I’ve had tons of compliments. And the bags have saved hundreds of plastic and paper bags. Woo hoo.

I love my Envirosax bags! I bought the bright multi colored bags about a year ago and never leave home without them. I get comments on them everytime I go to the grocery store and everyone seems to love the ideas of “going green”. I now have my mom re-using her bags and I plan on getting her a set of her own just like the ones I have for Mother’s Day!
The bags hold tons of groceries too! I can usually fit all my groceries in all 5 bags.
