We can’t control food prices or make exercise any more fun, but we can offer these simple, but smart steamers that will make the end of your day a lot easier and a lot better for you!
Delighted Customers Have this to say…
These are fabulous for cooking frozen veggies in the microwave. No need to add water and then use a slotted spoon to serve, and clean-up is a cinch. Lisa
These work great! For those who were wondering, they do come with a lid. I usually use them in the microwave because it is so quick, you just have to be careful not to add too much liquid because a lot of liquid comes out of the veggies when you cook them. I didn’t find the included recipe book all that helpful because it was obviously written in another language then translated to English, but it was enough that I could figure it out.
I would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone, especially if you are cooking for just 1 or 2 most of the time. Lindsey

I am so not a cook which makes me reallyI like these but do you put them in the microwave to heat up or in a pot?

I am just as curious as the above poster. I cannot figure out how these work. Especially being I have a gas stove. I forsee blue and rasberry ooze everywhere.

I guess I make 3…are these supposed to be used in the microwave? I didn’t think microwave cooking was healthy.

Add me to the confused list. Does it steam veggies in the microwave? Is it okay to do that?
May 7th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
First of all, I would never put these directly on a burner or over an open gas flame. I think the raspberry and blue ooze you talked about would be accompanied by fumes that would not be good for you or the food.
I steam veggies in the microwave all the time, but it isn’t clear how these work. I found the same items on A***on and T***et. Neither of them had photos that were any more helpful; but the customer comments on one model seemed to indicate that you just put the veggies in the container with a very little bit of water (for fresh veggies) or none at all (for frozen). Then pop the container in the microwave and the veggies cook without being drowned in boiling water.

My sister has one of these are there is no oozing I assure you. For whatever reason the silicon does not melt…I guess because it isn’t plastic. Here is some other info I found (and yes, I just bought the set because they are so easy to use):
* Microwave, oven safe to 430§ F
* Food cooks in it’s own juice, remains flavorful and juicy
* Preserves essential vitamins
* Dishwasher safe
* Includes recipe booklet

There is a mistake on your pricing.. on the raspberry one it says 13.50 everyday and 15% off making it 11.48… THEN it says the blue one is also 13.50 everyday and 15% off making it 14.48.. Hmmm.. do you see the problem here? That doesn’t add up right

these are AWESOME! they work in oven or micro. for fast veggie side disk throw some veggies in the container…give then a shot of non stick spray then season. cover and cook in the micro for 30-45 seconds. they are perfect! it really is a great tool for the kitchen!

I finally got around to testing the Healthy and Adorable Super Silicon Steamers in my oven. I’m not much for micro-wave cooking, so I made a vegetable dish of sliced zuchinni and yellow squash, chopped tomatoes, a little salt and pepper, dill weed and a splash of olive oil. Put it in the oven at 350 for about 20 minutes. It was really quite delicious. There is something about it’s compact size that makes it work better for me than the usual casserole dish I would normally use. Clean up is a breeze. Also, silicone is an inert, material made from silicon, a natural element in sand and rock, that won’t leach into foods. I highly recommend it!

gotta love something that lets you eat healthy with a microwave

The only thing I am curious about is whether there is a top for when using in the microwave or do you have to use plastic wrap or something similar.
I went ahead and bought two of the 20 oz. size and will use my silicone toppers that I already own if there is no lid on these.

I’m not a great cook so, whenever I find something that can help me out in the kitchen a bit… I’m all over it. The steamers cut my cooking time to just 30mins. They’re also oven safe.

Is the price correct? It says everyday is 13.50 but the shopping cart says $16.50.
July 13th, 2009 at 10:37 am
Hi Mindy,
The blue steamer is bigger so it is $16.50 but if you choose to order the pink one it is $13.50.
