I never dreamed that my frustration of dishes sliding on dinner trays would lead me to be an inventor!
While suffering from a migraine, my daughter brought some food to me on one of our staple “bamboo trays”. We used these trays constantly for entertaining, having dinner outside with family, or just anytime we weren’t sitting at the table to eat. When she brought the tray to me, everything had spilled. The tray was falling apart and dirty! To add to my frustration, I had to sit up to hold the tray perfectly parallel to the bed to prevent my dishes from sliding more. I decided that day that there had to be a better tray!
After searching on the internet, I could not find a tray to fix all the current problems with conventional dinner trays. I wanted a tray that would have 4 needed features: keep dishes in place, allow for safe dishwashing, store for convenience, and handles that would work. I worked for almost a year to design a tray with these benefits and HALLELUIAH the Lappers were born!
Lappers are made of a very durable plastic called melamine, have indentions for the dishes that are fitted with anti slip silicone mats, are completely dishwasher safe, nest into each other, and have large comfortable handles. Okay. These kinda rock. I may have to get some of these. We turned a room into a movie room (complete with dark walls and a wall-sized screen) and so we watch a lot of movies (and play xBox) up there so we eat up there more than we should…and with 7 year olds twins it can get messy! This would be perfect!

How did you know I needed this? I ended up getting more than one because I know for sure my hubby will end up hogging it, lol! They are perfect for us because we always eat in front of the TV and I’m tired of hunching over the coffee table! =)

I absolutely LOVE these! So utterly perfect, you’re really solving a big problem for me, with this item. How did you guys know that hopelessly-slippery trays is one of my pet peeves, too? I’m ordering a set right away. . . and will hardly be able to contain my excitement till they get here and we can to christen them with dinner in front of the tube!

While I don’t advocate my family sitting in front of the television to enjoy a meal, there’s no doubt that it does indeed happen. These meal trays will certainly be helpful in the event that we do end up crowding together in front of the idiot box at meal time.

Hey, i really like this idea. But i’m confused, as i sometimes am on Delight, with the quantity of product that comes with the purchase of a single unit off the menu. Some of your items are listed as a singular (a “pot” a “candle” for example.) But this one is called “trays” and the title “Lappers” is also plural. Does this mean a set of two? Or more?

I bought my husband one of these for his birthday this year. Unfortunately, he didn’t “get it”. He pulled off the silicon mats and threw them away! Any idea how or if they are replaceable?

We have a set of trays and absolutely love them!! They come in handy alot especially when my husband and I just want to sit in front of the TV and have a meal. What a great invention!!! Those bamboo trays used to drive me crazy and were cheap! Thanks to the inventor!! They are fabulous!!!

I was expecting a set of 2 trays. I saw the same item on QVC for the same price and it included a set of 2. Unfortunately when I needed to order, the other supplier was out of stock.
