Nellie’s All Natural Super Clean Laundry Nuggets

Get Your Clothes Squeaky Clean Naturally!
Traditional laundry detergents use scent to mask odors rather than remove them. Many people associate the fresh smell of scented products with cleanliness. Traditional soaps will clean and scent the surface but may not actually penetrate the material. Once the fragrance from the detergent dissipates, the musty smell may return.
Nellie’s laundry soda is unscented and designed to penetrate the fabric as well as remove the odors, not mask them. Nellie’s rinses clear and leaves no residue.
If you would like your laundry to have a scent, consider a natural linen spray or a lavender pouch that can be placed in the dryer.
What’s In It?
SODA ASH - (SODIUM CARBONATE) also known as washing soda. In domestic use, it’s used as a water softener during laundry.
SODIUM METASILICATE - A major use is as a builder (a material that enhances or maintains the cleaning efficiency of a surfactant, principally by inactivating water hardness) in soaps and detergents
SODIUM CHLORIDE - Sodium chloride, also known as common salt, table salt, or halite. As well as the familiar uses of salt in cooking, salt is used in many applications, from manufacturing pulp and paper to setting dyes in textiles and fabric, to producing soaps and detergents.
CITRIC ACID - This is a weak organic acid. It serves as an environmentally benign cleaning agent and acts as an antioxidant.
The Detergent is Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate. It is a coconut based (LAURYL) Ethoxylated fatty alcohol. Coconut oil on its own will wash nothing. It is therefore chemically modified so that it becomes surface active and thus performs like a detergent. This commodity is widely used by many detergent manufacturers because it is readily biodegradable, non toxic and mild and efficient. It is also NOT Petroleum based.
Delighted Customers Have this to Say…
I’ve been using the Nellie Dryer Balls and they are really making a difference in how my clothes turn out. I’m looking forward to trying these especially since I’m trying to go green for all my household cleaning products. Cara
I love that these are pre-measured out for me. I have been known to over pour the detergent before and this is a big help. Kate

Love the idead, but wondering if it’s 1 nugget = 1 load whether you’ve got a front-loading vs. top loading machine. Usually you use less detergent for front-loading which is what we have. Thanks.

is this color-safe?

Good questions! Nellie’s Laundry Nuggets are safe for front loading, High Efficiency, and Standard washing machines. It is especially good for babies clothes and individuals with allergies and sensitive skin. It doesn’t list it as being “color-safe” but my guess is that it is given that it is safe for babies clothes and sensitive skin.

I love all the Nellie’s products. We’ve been using the dryer balls for a long time now and it’s been great! These laundry nuggets are a must-have. You don’t have to pre-measure and you don’t have to worry about any kind of chemicals. A great laundry product for everyone! =)

How do these compare with dropps?

Oxygen Brightener? Dryer balls? Not seeing either on the site. I’d buy the nuggets but would like to get all at the same time.

Hi there, sorry if this was addressed and I missed it somewhere…I have a Front-Loading, High-Efficiency washing machine. Where exactly, do I put this? I have a drawer that opens for the liquid soap…but if this is solid, will it work in there? I have never put any kind of soap *in* the part where the clothes go…thanks!

Does the detergent really dissolve completely, even in cold water? I have tried powdered “green” laundry detergents, and have found a white residue ends up all over my clothes. I have had better luck with liquids, and would like to confirm before I buy. Better yet, do you know if they will send you a sample?

What a great gift? idea for college students!! (as in my son and others who never learned how to do laundry before leaving home) BUT…… I also would like to know if you throw these in the wash itself or in the compartment on a front load, HE washing machine as I have one of those myself??
I absolutely love this website/store - just found it tonight and I’m hooked!!

I am a newly diagnosised woman of celiac disease (no gluten) which this product is friendly for my restrictions. However, I was just told that I am going to be a mother and have now found out that my baby girl to be is going to have the restrictions as myself….
I was hoping and wondering if this product was safe to use on baby clothes????

This detergent is perfect for baby clothes and even cloth diapers because they leave no residue, whether washing in cold or warm water. Also, you don’t have to worry about harsh chemicals and fragrances irritating the baby’s skin. My husband and I use Nellie’s because we both have very sensitive skin, so when baby came, we used it too and it was great! You should also try the lavender sticks for infused towels and blankets!

Great that it can be used with front loaders, but do i put it in with the clothes or in the dispenser drawer?

Hello Margo,
You would just toss the Nellies Nuggets in with the clothing!
Have a great day

Somewhere else on the web in another forum, someone said the nuggets didn’t dissolve automatically but that you needed to give them a little time to dissolve in the water before adding your clothes? Wish there was more information on this. I very new with HE washers - just got one delivered today and I’m thinking I shouldn’t be opening the door to throw in the clothes after the water has started and after the nugget is dissolved?

I found that my clothes did not get completely clean with this detergent.
