Growing up we had a sewing room on the second floor of my house that served as craft room, storage space and detention center for all of my childhood. If you talked back at dinner, you got a short stay in the sewing room. I found this experience particularly hilarious, since I’d make more trouble in sewing room detention than anywhere else.
There were glue guns, ric rac, balsa wood, bits of fabric, push pins, Sharpe markers, colored pencils, stencils, etc. It was a veritable cornucopia of craft trouble for a nine-year-old. My mother only really came to understand this many years later when she exposed the bottom of her craft table and the back of the cabinets during a move and was greeted by some remedial decoupage. I think at that moment she was surely wishing she had a PopMat on the kitchen table that fateful dinner for me to decorate and destroy, instead of, say, an entire room…

I have to share this. I bought the other set you had and used it at a dinner party and it was the HIT of the evening. All my hours of cooking were eclipsed by these super cute placemats

I am such an animal lover! I can’t resist the animal PopMats! You could use them for just about any occasion, baby showers, birthdays, going away parties or maybe a fun lunch with friends or family.

My family gathers together almost every Sunday night for dinner! It’s a lot of fun with plenty of good food and wine and catching up on each others lives over the past week. Last night I set my granddaughter’s place at the table with a PopMat (it saved my table cloth!) along with a brand new package of crayons. While we talked, she colored and when she got tired of that she serenaded us with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Now I Know My ABCs. She’s 2 years old and of course a genius!
I love the PopMats and just thought I’d pass on a great way to use them!
