Because We’re Not Too Fond Of Heat (or ugly fans)
June 21st, 2007
The first official day of summer is upon us, although judging by the extreme heat we’ve been experiencing the past month it might seem a bit of a pointless demarcation. But everything has to have a beginning and an end so I guess this day is as good as any.
Things I love about summer…BBQ’s, sitting at the pool, camping, going to the beach, gardening, eating outside on restaurant patios, the list could go on and on.
Things I don’t like…heat, hot air, hot wind, dry heat, wet heat, oh and yes, heat. I spend my summers searching for ways to beat the heat. I’m pretty sure I found the coolest way yet – Black & Blum’s Propello.
This incredibly modern, incredibly innovative fan is as quiet and safe as it is aesthetically pleasing. The blades of the fan are made of rubber and can be stopped by the human hand even on the highest setting without hurting it one bit! Small enough to sit on one’s desk, but powerful enough to give the room some fresh air, the Propello is the latest and greatest in fans.
Virtually silent, the Propello isn’t like all those cheap fans you’ve acquired at Target in a hurry, so that you’re bedroom would at least be bearable to sleep in, but just ended up keeping you up all night with their rhythmic wheezing. You won’t even know Propello is on, unless of course, you’re admiring how great it looks.
So yes, as it is the first day of summer, of course you should run outside and frolic. But then, when your face has turned the color of the ripe tomatoes in your garden, and your flowery summer clothes are clinging to you like bees on a snow cone – go back inside why don’t cha. Pour yourself a cold one and park it right in front of the Propello.
We figure that then – and only then – you will truly appreciate summer.

This is pretty pricey for a desk fan!

I live in Canada and, even in the winter, I have the window open. A fan like this would be perfect for someone who is always too warm.
