$30 for five bags is actually incredibly affordable. That breaks down to $6 a bag - and I challenge you to find a versitale and useful tote bag anywhere for 6 bucks. Janet is right, they’re also great for the beach and pool as they’re waterproof.
And the point is NOT to get bags for free…but rather to buy a few good ones that can be reused over and over so you don’t use grocery bags once and then toss them in the trash. That’s a lot of trash!!!

Wow! Fast shipping. I already have my Envirosax’s and they are AWESOME. Big enough for at least 2 grocery bags. Jim - the whole point is that those grocery bags are HORRIBLE for the environment and end up in a land fill for years and years. These are reusable. While I am not a “flower child” I would like my children to be able to have a place to put trash and not have the landfills all full. They are multi-purpose and so very cute. Kind of remind me of raincoat material. I went to the Envirosax’s (www.envirosax.com) website and they come in animal print too. You can also buy them individually from them, but they are more expensive ($5.95 per bag I think) plus shipping. This was my first purchase from Delight and I am a customer for life. I was one of the lucky folks who got these–they arrived superfast so I was able to try them out right away (thanks Delight!). The stats: 5 bags, 2 grocery stores, 4 admiring comments from store employees, 3 random people stopping me in the aisles and the parking lot to ask where I got the bags. I’ve never felt so glamorous while schlepping groceries. And I felt even better when I returned home without a single plastic bag.

We looked into using recycled plastic but it was a very expensive option for both the company and the environment. Recycling includes collecting the old plastic, transportation, processing and conversion. All this requires a lot of energy and produces a lot of green house gases. India and China are fast becoming the world’s dumping ground for recyclables. Also recycling uses non-renewable energy sources and toxic chemicals are also involved. There is the other sort of recycling where bags can be made from old pieces of material left over from some manufacturing processes. I fully support this methed of recycling. In the next six months Envirosax will be increasing its organic line with four more natural materials. Keep watching over web site www.envirosax.com for details.

These are going to rock the farmers’ market. Maybe it’s just living in California, but using canvas/reusable bags out here is very important. In San Francisco they passed an ordinance banning plastic bags. So these babies are the cat’s meow when it comes to being stylishly green. I can’t wait to get mine.

I was so excited to get these bags in the mail today. Unfortunately, the craftsmanship on them stinks. 5 minutes after opening the bags — I realized that one had a hole in the seam. They are NOT made well made. The seams are poorly done and they don’t look like they will last. I am disappointed. With all the rave reviews — I thought I should add some balance to the forum. I like the designs and the whole concept is great — but the reality isn’t that stellar.

Wow - one of my best buys! It really is UNBELIEVABLE how much these bags hold! I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve already used these. Aside from my grocery trips, I’ve used them to haul used clothes to the Salvation Army, to carry some things into the office. I’ll be sure to use these to the Beach too! Talk about Multi-Purpose. I love how they fold up really small and I can put them in my handbag without adding any additional bulk.

I used my bags for the first time today and I am a very (Very!) happy shopper. As someone who manages to make a trip to the grocery store everyday, I have been fighting the battle of the bag for a long time now…they pile up everywhere, and I somehow always forget to take them back to the store to be recycled (BTW, many grocers here in Pittsburgh do not even offer recycling bins). This feels like a breakthrough…a plastic bag-free home. The check-out person and bagger were actually squealing about how cool these Envirosax are. The blue bag with the red birds is especially beautiful. I think the price is excellent…these bags are super sturdy and BIG. I made it from my car up the stairs to my house in one trip…normally, I would have had to make at least three trips hauling hall-full, flimsy plastic bags. Thank you!!!

Oh, man, I was thrilled with my first delight.com order. I love our new Envirosax.
On their maiden voyage to the grocery store, I was approached by fellow shoppers (AND the checker in the next lane) asking where to buy them. I happily directed them here.

These are really very large and sturdy. We used ours to return some library books, and they really held up. The colors are very vibrant, but I had some color bleeding on my navy bag.

Hi Kelly thanks for the feedback. Kelly we have been selling the bags now for over 18 months and this is the first comment we have had on bleeding. Did this happen after a hot wash or was the bleeding apparent when you purchased the bag. (The washing instructions state hand wash 20 degrees).

I received my sax on Friday & used them on Saturday. They are great- The pouch is even smaller and lighter than I expected & all my groceries that probably would have taken up 10 plastic bags fit in 4 of these. Much cuter & stronger than the plastic bags. I folded them up & they’re in my car ready for my next trip to the store.

Love love love these bags. I use them for the Farmer’s Market, grocery store, Target trips…They hold so much more because the handles are so wide, it allows you to throw it over your shoulder and forget it.
I can’t fold up a map but I can roll these back up in a jiffy!

I didn’t get my envirosax through Delight.com because you were out out them for quite a bit, BUT, I’m not writing to complain, but to compliment you for offering these to savvy and stylish shoppers, and also for your reaching out to those who’ve had a hard time getting their hands on the bags due to the word-of-mouth. I wonder if you guys have received any requests for an alternative to the plastic produce bags that also plague our world? Something that can be rinsed with a bit of soapy water, dry easily, and not get stinky and mildewy??? If Envriosax or someone else out there offers these, I’m interested. Thank you in advance!

Wendy - I would LOVE to find an alternative to produce bags. Lately, I’ve just been doing without them, and I just load up one of my Envirosax with all my fresh produce (I mean, do you really HAVE to put two apples in a plastic bag? Where are they going to run off to, exactly?)
However, when buying - say - 10 limes, it is nice not to have them rolling about everywhere.

I agree Tracey, that when possible, I go without the produce bags. Works well for bananas and two avocados, but for 15 heirloom tomatoes, the cashier and the customers behind me would spit at me! Well if you do come across an ingenious, sustainable replacement, let us know. Thank you Shavonne for the produce bag info, and they might work for me as a gathering tool to keep same things together and different things separate at the store, but I cringe that they suggest you stick the mesh bag of produce into a PLASTIC bag to put in the fridge!

How is this environmentally “friendly” when it’s made of a petroleum-based fabric and shipped from Australia?
Buy a canvas or hemp bag from a local shop instead.

Love the Envirosax! The bags are large, well made, and easy to roll up and store in the provided pouch. Not only are they super cute, but from the first time my daughter and I went grocery shopping, we walked out feeling like we were doing our part in helping the environment. At 11, she is becoming more conscious about ways to be environmentally friendly…and for the first time ever, she helped me carry the grocery bags.

Yes Envirosax bags are made from petroleum products, but the material polyester is very strong and durable and as a reusable bag can be reused over and over, saving the use of thousands of plastic grocery bags. I just wan’t to say for all of you that are on the fence on this that the sax is so light and easy to use that you can bring it with you where ever, and therefore you can save yourself some plastic bags for those impulse buys we all make. And it does carries a lot more than a canvas bag ever would going to the grocery store. I would love a more natural too, but then I probably wouldn’t use it every time because it would be a heavier product. Did you know that cotton is one of the more energy consuming materials to make? It is because they have to rinse the raw cotton extensively to get rid of unwanted byproducts. I wish it wasn’t so, because I love my cotton clothes, but wool is for instance a better choice for the enviroment. But you can’t have grocery bags made of wool now can you! Good luck with your choices either way.

Those canvas bags sat in the backseat of my car and all too often I was in the store before I realized I had forgotten them. I ordered the spiffy Envirosax that came (with the speediest service ever) so cunningly packaged to fit in my purse.I managed to unfurl the entire bunch at the grocery store and the young man who was doing the bagging said, “These are really cool bags”. Better yet I got a nickel credit for each bag so I figure at a quarter a fill-the-cupboards shopping experience they’ll pay for themselves eventually! It really takes a leap of faith to order from an unknown company that advertises on another website but I must tell you I am “delight”-ed with the experience.

I have been trying to find country of origin information for the EnviroSax but cannot find it. Can anyone respond wtih the country of origin on this product.
I am avoiding products made in China for many reasons; i.e., environmental, human rights, political, etc.
About using vegetable produce bags … you can use these bags virtually guilt-free … if they are needed. Recycle them - supermarkets (at least here in California) have plastic bag recycle bins outside the stores.

Envirosax are produced in a large city in China by a manufacturer who follows all the Labour Laws of China. The factory also produces for the German and UK markets and the factory manager has to maintain high standards. The age of the workers is between 22-45 and there is NO child labour. The working conditions are safe and well lit and the wages are fair. David Gutnik a Canadian producer recently made a doco. on factory workers in China, please check it out.

I love my Envirosax! They hold so much, yet they roll up so small. The attached snap-strap (like what you would find on an umbrella) is great, although I may end up sewing a bit of velcro over the plastic snaps to make it faster. The only real problem is that my green bag has a hole in it, like a run on a pair of stockings. When I put anything heavier than a loaf of bread in the bag, the run gets larger. But overall, I would recommend Envirosax and am considering buying a second set, since they have been so incredibly useful!

I finally was asked where I got my bags last night! The girl at the checkout thought they were great, though she had a little trouble figuring out how to put things in the bags. I love these! They have been such a life/earth saver! I’ve purchased 3 more sets for my sisters and mom for Xmas (shhh…don’t tell!).

I love these! They are compact enough for me to keep one in my purse for impulse buys and large and sturdy enough to be able to hold six bottles of wine and a bag of chips (don’t judge me) while still fitting comfortably over my shoulder.

Love your bags.Had been using large canvas bags I got at Steve & Barrys very heavy. These are definitley cuter and sooo much lighter. Get about 30 cans of cat food because I travelo so much and they all fit in one bag. Feel so great walking out the door knowing I’m doing my part to help the enviroment just makes me want to do more. Going to order for friends and sisters so there are more people doing the same. They are so light they got into your purse all of them and are great at the Farmers Market(why am I not seeing more people using their own bags) Used to forget all the time and still sometimes leave my cart and got out for my bags. They are by the door throw in the trunk when you have your shopping list put them in the front seat. THX

I love these bags. I keep them in my car at all times so I never have to use a store bag. I have gotten so many compliments on them-and they hold a lot of stuff but don’t ever feel heavy. I have this set & love them. Orig., I thought they were a bit pricey for what you get. But now that I have them, I think they were worth the weight they can carry, in gold! I use them for groceries, as a wet clothes bag for inside my gym bag, and to bring food/drinks to dinner parties. It is easy to leave a few in the car & use in a pinch!

I bought these and get endless use out of them. They are fashionable and ecofriendly. No more plastic bags for me!

I can’t tell you how much use I get out of these–not just for groceries but for all kinds of things. They fold up smaller than my canvas bags, but hold so much more. I’m even taking a couple with me on a month-long trip abroad next month…and considering purchasing several sets for Christmas presents, since all my friends love mine!

I rarely plan to go to the grocery store, so my re-usable grocery bags were not living out their destiny (as they were always at home)…until I found a bag similar to this. It came with a small bag and weighs nothing so I always had it on me. With this set, I can carry several and keep some in the car! Perfect!!

I love this idea. My mom never uses plastic shopping bags, only reusables, but shes had the same ratty bags for years. I should refer her to this, (and they’re nice enough that Id probably use them myself). LOVE the patterns.

I have had these for a few months now, and if you think the price is too high, you’re crazy. They’re extremely durable and reusable, not to mention environmentally friendly, so you don’t have to collect plastic bags after every trip to the grocery store. Each can hold A LOT of groceries, and you don’t need to double bag anything. I LOVE THEM! I always carry at least one in my purse!

I bought this set a few months ago and we use them all the time. My husband and I each keep one in the car for unplanned trips plus the others are at home for our big grocery shopping days. They carry a large amount of groceries and are so convenient to use. I just bought another set to give for Christmas!

I love these bags SO much. I bought one for myself and use it all the time. The folks at the grocery store are always skeptical about the amount of stuff I cram in there, but these bags are surprisingly sturdy. I bought this set of five and gave them to all my girlfriends for Christmas.

I love my envirosax bags. A friend of mine was given them as a Xmas gift and I totally fell in love. Mine came in the mail last week and I used them for the first time yesterday. The grocery clerks were commenting on how cute they were. I know they are a little more expensive than the reusable ones you can get from the grocery store, but they are 1. more compact and 2. cuter. If it takes a little more frill to get people to be more environmentally conscious….then I am all for it. Plus they do hold A LOT! I absolutely love them and can’t wait to use them again and again!!!

I just got my envirosax today. I am so excited they are super cute. My mom was over when I opened them and I gave her one cause she loved them too. I am about to go to the grocery store and I am actually looking forward to going since I get to use my new bags. They are just as cute as I thought they were going to be. They look super sturdy too. Yae!!! I am going to have to order more to give away to all of my friends.

Boy, do I love these bags. People really do stop me to ask where I got them from. They are strong, easy to carry, and hold a lot. And, way prettier than a grubby old canvas tote!

Just got my order from Delight.com yesterday. Super fast service and my new favorite online shopping locale! These bags rock! I have used them twice already and I have to say, they can hold a lot of stuff. I had about 10 apples, 2 bunches of asparagus, 2 heads of lettuce, and a few bags of chocolate in my one bag. There was room to spare, and I didn’t feel that the weight of the contents were straining the bag at all. Another great thing - the handles are long enough to carry the bag on your shoulder. got my bags a couple of weeks ago and i absolutely love them!! not only are they sooo cute but i love how you can roll them up and stick one in your pocket or purse for a quick un-planned run to the grocery store. the handles are also large enough to swing over the shoulder, making the trip from my car up 3 flights of stairs much easier

I ordered these FABULOUS bags on Monday and they arrived on Wednesday. I was not only amazed with their speedy arrival, but also with their large capactiy and colorful beauty. My favorite things about them however, are how easy it is to fold them back up and how small they are when folded. STUPENDOUS buy!!!

Do these bags still only have a graphic on one side and a solid color with the envirosax logo on the other? I ordered the them a while ago and love the quality but would have preffered to have the graphic on both sides. Just curious.

These bags are great and the pictures don’t do them justice. They fold and fit in your pocket or small purse.They are very soft (like silk) I am so pleased. If you can’t use 5 give one to a friend or family member. THANKS

Absolutely love these! They were a BIG hit at the grocery store…. everyone asked where I got them! (Hope they order some!) I also got the reusable bags for produce and love them too… I like not having to throw away a “bag” full of grocery bags! They may have cost a little more than I wanted to spend on 5 bags….but I’m glad I did… the are absolutely worth it!
