It was a cold, rainy day on the first of June when Lilly, having just celebrated her 12th birthday, boarded the train with tears in her eyes as she set out for her Grandparent’s house on Prince
Edward Island.
She couldn’t understand why her mother insisted she spend the summer with an old couple she hardly knew, while all of her friends were staying in the city and having pool parties.
…Eight weeks later, Lilly boarded another train with tears in her eyes. She turned around to wave to her grandmother and wished she never had to leave and go back to the city.
As she sat in her seat, she looked at her favorite picture taken by her grandfather. She and her grandmother had walked far ahead of him chasing after butterflies that were fluttering on the tops of the white flowers in the field. A sea of lovely Queen Anne’s Lace.
She saw only her back in the picture - her hair much longer and streaked from spending endless days in the sun. She was holding her Grandmother’s hand, who looked down at her with a wonderful smile that never seemed to leave her face.
20 years later, Lilly still looks at that picture every day before she goes to work. Most days, on her neck you’ll see a reminder of a wonderful memory; a simple, handmade silver necklace etched with a beautiful flower. It reminds her that summer is never far away.
Today we are offering you the remembrance of summer and fields of flowers with our beautiful "Queen Anne’s Lace" necklace designed by Judy Vilmain.

I am a big fan of Judy Vilmain’s jewelry but hadn’t seen this one before. They are delicate but make a statement. Plus the quality is really good. Almost like a heirloom piece. I think I will get one for my sister….

It’s so simple but not boring. The flower gives me a nostalgic feeling of those carefree summer days. ahhhhhh…

This is a great piece! I normally don’t wear necklaces, but I love how light and casual it is! It makes such a pretty, simple statement.

It’s great to hear of a designer doing so much to give back in an interactive manner, especially in her own community.

SOOO, I just happened upon this site from the shelterific blog and then upon this necklace and I was so bummed because I bought this from a small shop in CT for SO much more. My sister LOVED it and now after reading about Vilmain, I was thrilled to support the artist, but the store I bought it from had SUCH a markup — I should have bought from Delight.com! Great prices, Delight! Great piece, and great artist though, so I can’t complain too much!

Dimensions of the pendant and chain please? If it’s a nice size, I want it! If it’s a dainty little half-inch square, I’ll pass.

Hello Jennifer,
The chain is 9inches long and the pendant is a little over 1 inch by 1 inch. I am not a fan of super small dainty jewelry either!
This piece is a nice size though!
