I saw this magnetic knife rack craft project a couple of days ago on the fabulous blog The Farm Chicks and thought it would be a perfect companion to the super cute paring knives that we sell here on Delight. Hello Friday Mixtapers!

The weather has been slightly strange here in Denver this week..very cool and a little bit stormy. It is quite a shift from the 100+ degree days we usually swelter though.

At any rate, its still summer and ripe fruit has been piling up on my kitchen counter, which means I need to get cooking. I have always loved mango salsa paired with corn chips for a delicious afternoon summer treat; but recently I found this amazing recipe on one of Delight HQ’s favorite blogs, Smitten Kitchen: instead of using mangos, this salsa recipe calls for cantaloupe! Hello Friday Mixtapers!

This week we have a special guest Dj for Mixtape Fridays, the fabulous singer Sara Wasserman. During the insanity of mystery box day we put in Sara’s cd and it quickly became a Delight HQ favorite. I had something entirely different planned for this weeks mix but after hearing yesterday’s news of Michael Jackson’s passing I thought it would be fitting to pay tribute to MJ with this weeks mix. MJ left us with some amazing tunes that you can’t but help move and groove to when they are on!

MixTape Friday

Strawberries are just starting to come into season and that makes me one happy lady. I tend to be a seasonal fruit purist, meaning that I only buy fruit when it is in season. My friends, prime strawberry season is now upon us in full force. In honor of this glorious time, I found the most beautiful Strawberry Shortcake recipe via the Amazing Chocolate Shavings Blog. I am not the worlds best baker but this recipe seems pretty simple . PS. If you don’t shop organic on a regular basis organic strawberries are one thing you should spend the extra money on, as they tend to be heavily sprayed with pesticides.
